Glaze Formulation

Exploring Glazes A Fresh Approach (November)

COMPLETED

This online course is designed to build solid foundation in glaze formulation. In this course you will approach glaze recipe as a mixture of oxides rather than mixture of minerals. With this approach, behavior of the glazes can be better understood and the glaze minerals can be easily substituted with local variants.

This glaze formulation course will let you learn how to arrive at optimal ratio of these oxides in a glaze recipe and understand role these oxides play in the glaze texture, durability, colour and temperature. You will be introduced to simple software tools and calculators to predict , analyze and to fine tune the glazes.

This course comprises of instructor led sessions and Lab sessions. The instructor led sessions include theory, lab review and Q&A. Duration of Instructor led sessions are between 1.5 - 2hours each.
