Wheel Throwing 01 (August Weekday)

This beginner's course is designed for you to build solid foundation in wheel throwing, this is vital for you to master this art. Through this program you will learn fundamental techniques like wedging, centering, pulling and trimming. Also you will learn to throw and alter cylinders into bottles and one piece for creative expression.

Additionally, you will gain core knowledge of the basics of ceramics and clay. Good understanding about this versatile medium is quite critical for your learning process.

Also you will be introduced to basic glaze application techniques and few of your selected pieces will be glazed to take home.

This is a 19 session course, with 12 instructor led sessions,  spread over 6 weeks, of 3 hours per session followed by one review session which will be conducted online. An additional of 6 open studio sessions will be included which has to be taken during the first 4 weeks of the course duration.

Instructor led Session dates: August 10th, 13th, 17th , 20th,24th,27th , 31st,Spetember 3rd , 7th ,9th (Thursday),  14th and 21st

We can accommodate only 8 students per wheel throwing batch, hence the registration will be on a first come first serve basis.

You will be working with cone 6 stoneware clay and glazes that are made in house and used by professional ceramic artists. The class fee includes firing and supplies. As part of supplies you will be given 20kgs of stoneware clay, glazes, apron and a set of basic pottery tools which is to be used during the sessions.

Instructor Brief:

Born and bought up in the city of arts and crafts, Jaipur. Aastha has always been influenced by the richness of culture and crafts that India has. She graduated as a craft designer in ceramics from Indian Institute of Crafts and Design and the later went to Golden Bridge Pottery to enhance her skills in pottery.

She believes that working in ceramic had endless possibilities and she hopes to keep exploring them. She loves to experiment with the materials, push its limits and discover new methods in the process.

  • We reserve the right to cancel the classes or programs.  The participant will receive full refund in the event of cancellation
  • Cancellation Policy : No refunds will be provided if the registration is not cancelled 1 week before the start of the program. A refund of 75% will be provided if cancellation does occur before 1 week of commencement of the program
