Pre-requisite for the Course: students should have knowledge of basic handbuilding techniques such as pinching, coiling and slabs and should be able to construct a 8” handbuilding article using these techniques.

This Handbuilding Level 2 course is designed tohighlight its emphasis on complexity, technique, efficiency, expression, and the balance between sculpture and functionality.
This is a 6 day course, 12 sessions (2 hours each session) out of which 7 sessions are instructor led and 5 sessions are open studio.

Take up flexible practice sessions post your course to get better with throwing
(Inform the studio a day prior between 10:30am to 5:30am to book your slot)

Article pick-up date: 5th March - 10th March
Post 10th March, the articles will not be saved any further in the studio.

Studio will provide 20 kgs of sandalwood clay as part of the program. Students are expected to get a basic pottery toolkit and apron to the for the course duration. Tools provided by the studio (for complex building) needs to be returned back at the end of the course. The studio will fire the final complex pieces selected by the instructor at bisque temperature.
NOTE:
1. Please go through the dates and the respective days of the course sessions as not all sessions are being conducted on all Saturdays and Sundays.
2. The course does not include glazing
3. As part of the course, students will take back one functional and one non functional pieces of dimensions up to 24”x12”x12” (can be horizontal or vertical)

About our Instructor :
Kinjal Shah
Kinjal Shah, born in Kolkata, India and has been brought up in Bengaluru where she completed her Bachelors in visual arts from College of Fine Arts, Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath, specializing in Ceramics.
Her compositions in ceramic sculpture, design and industrial products are based on understanding traditional and non-traditional techniques from different cultures.
Along with her ceramic practices, she experiments with various methods, media, form, colors and textures on functional and non-functional wares. She tries to create a dialogue between her works and the viewers with the belief that a narrative is ever evolving.

1. Refund
- On or before 7 days (5th January) - Full refund
- On or before 2 days (9th January) - 50 % refund
- Cancellation after (9th January) - No refund
- All the refunds will be processed within 15 working days post cancellation
2. Transfer
- Transfer to another person - If a person is not able to attend the program for any personal reasons, they can transfer their slot to another person for the program they have registered for, and inform the studio at least 1 day before to add them in the group.
- Transfer to another class - Transfer to an alternative class date is not possible once you register. You will need to cancel the registration for the existing program (Cancellation and refund policy will apply) and re-register for the new program
3.Missed Sessions -
- Claystation will schedule 1 make up session during the course.

- Claystation reserves the right to cancel or change the schedule of classes. The participant will receive a full refund in the event of cancellation. However, if the classes are rescheduled, you can opt for shifting to the next batch/postponed date or take a refund.
4.Studio Closure:
- If the studio is forced to close due to factors outside of our control such as severe weather conditions, or an infectious disease such as Covid-19, we will make an effort to reschedule the paused sessions. However we will not offer any refunds
