Elevate & Expand: Hand-building Level 02

Pre-requisite for the Course: students should have knowledge of basic handbuilding techniques such as pinching, coiling and slabs and should be able to construct a 8” handbuilding article using these techniques.

This Handbuilding Level 2 course is designed tohighlight its emphasis on complexity, technique, efficiency, expression, and the balance between sculpture and functionality.

This is a 6 day course, 12 sessions (2 hours each session) out of which 7 sessions are instructor led and 5 sessions are open studio.

1. Mastery of Handbuilding Techniques: Create intricate, taller, and larger ceramic pieces to enhance your hand building skills.
2. Efficient Large-scale Sculptures: Learn to construct sizable ceramic sculptures swiftly and efficiently.
3. Emotion-Driven Sculpting: Express your emotions and artistic vision through your ceramic sculptures with a strong focus on emotional expression.
4. Sculptural Art with Practical Utility: Craft ceramic pieces that are both artistic and functional, exploring the synergy between form and function.

About our Instructor :
Kinjal Shah

Kinjal Shah, born in Kolkata, India and has been brought up in Bengaluru where she completed her Bachelors in visual arts from College of Fine Arts, Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath, specializing in Ceramics.

Her compositions in ceramic sculpture, design and industrial products are based on understanding traditional and non-traditional techniques from different cultures. 

Along with her ceramic practices, she experiments with various methods, media, form, colors and textures on functional and non-functional wares. She tries to create a dialogue between her works and the viewers with the belief that a narrative is ever evolving.

NOTE:

1. Refund

• On or before 7 days (5^th May)  - Full refund
• On or before 2 days (10^th May)  - 50 % refund
• Cancellation after (10^th May) - No refund
• All the refunds will be processed only after 15 working days post cancellation

2. Transfer

• Transfer to another person - If a person is not able to attend the program for any personal reasons, they can transfer their slot to another person for the program they have registered for, and inform the studio at least 1 day before to add them in the group.
• Transfer to another class - Transfer to an alternative class date is not possible once you register. You will need to cancel the registration for the existing program (Cancellation and refund policy will apply) and re-register for the new program

3.Missed Sessions -

• Claystation will schedule 1 make up session during the course.

• Claystation will not offer refunds for the sessions missed
• Claystation reserves the right to cancel or change the schedule of classes. The participant will receive a full refund in the event of cancellation. However, if the classes are rescheduled, you can opt for shifting to the next batch/postponed date or take a refund.

4.Studio Closure:

• If the studio is forced to close due to factors outside of our control such as severe weather conditions, or an infectious disease such as Covid-19, we will make an effort to reschedule the paused sessions. However we will not offer any refunds
