Level 3: Intermediate Wheel Throwing 01 (September Weekend)

This Intermediate wheel throwing course 01 is a first step towards taking pottery professionally. Students will be covering a wide range of forms which includes cups, mugs, pitchers, plates and off the hump throwing.

The course will include the basics of production pottery and glaze application. Towards the end of the program, students will be working on a project where they will be developing a range of products which they will later glaze and fire as a part of the program.

Students will also be taken through the basics of how to step up and run a home studio

This is a 18 session course, spread over 12 weekends, of 3 hours per session.

Session Dates: September 10th, 18th, 24th, 25th, October 1st, 8th, 9th, 15th, 16th, 29th, 30th, November 5th, 6th, 12th , 13th, 19th (Full day) and 20th 

NOTE: Please go through the dates and the respective days of the course sessions as not all sessions are being conducted on all Saturday and Sundays.

You will be working with two different cone 6 stoneware clay that is manufactured in house and used by professional ceramic artists. The class fee includes firing and 40kgs of stoneware clay, to be used during the sessions. Each student will be given a space in our big production kiln for firing their articles.

NOTE: Articles firing and glazing will happen post the dates mentioned above. Students need to opt for separate open studio sessions (if any practice is needed) and students also need to procure their glazes and other supplies required for glazing their articles.

Instructor Brief

Born and bought up in the city of arts and crafts, Jaipur. Aastha has always been influenced by the richness of culture and crafts that India has. She graduated as a craft designer in ceramics from Indian Institute of Crafts and Design and the later went to Golden Bridge Pottery to enhance her skills in pottery.

She believes that working in ceramic had endless possibilities and she hopes to keep exploring them. She loves to experiment with the materials, push its limits and discover new methods in the process.

NOTE:

  • Registration and payment is required to secure a spot in class.
  • Cancellation and refund Policy:
    1. No refunds will be provided if the registration is not cancelled 1 week before the start of the program
    2. A refund of 75% will be provided if cancellation does occur before 1 week of commencement of the
        program
    3. Claystation will not offer refund for the sessions missed
    4. Claystation  reserves the right to cancel or change the schedule of classes. The participant will receive full refund in the event of cancellation. However, if the classes are rescheduled, there will be no refund
  • Studio Closure:
    If the studio is forced to close due to factors outside of our control such as severe weather conditions, or an infectious disease such as Covid-19, we will make effort to reschedule the paused sessions. However we will not offer any refunds
  • Transfers:
    Transfer to an alternative class date is not possible once you register. You will need to cancel the registration for the existing program (Cancellation and refund policy will apply) and re-register for the new program
